Official Contest Rules: The Local Buzz Giveaway: Summer Family Fun Gift Basket

1. ELIGIBILITY: The contest is open only to legal residents of Ontario, Canada, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry, or who have obtained verifiable parental/guardian consent if under the age of 18. Residents of Quebec are explicitly excluded. Employees, representatives, and agents of The Local Buzz, as well as their immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and persons domiciled with them, are not eligible to enter.
2. CONTEST PERIOD: The contest opens on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM EST and closes on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 9:00 PM EST.
3. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, visit https://thelocalbuzz.ca during the Contest Period and complete the online entry form in its entirety. This includes providing your first name, last name, email address, and answering the required opinion questions about The Local Buzz.

• Limit: One (1) entry per person.
• Newsletter Opt-In: Entrants will have the option to join The Local Buzz newsletter. Opting in is entirely voluntary and is not a requirement to enter or win the contest.

4. PRIZE: There is one (1) prize available to be won, consisting of:

• A gorgeous set of outdoor plates, bowls and glasses
• A matching salad bowl for your favourite summer sides
• Two WOODS brand tumblers to keep your morning coffee or evening iced tea at the perfect temperature
• A big box of Crayola chalk for sidewalk masterpieces
• Two pool noodles and a classic frisbee
• A family-friendly ring toss set
• Bubble wands and three big jugs of bubble mixture
• Coleman cooler

with an approximate retail value (ARV) of $300.00 CAD.

• Prize Claim: The prize is non-transferable and must be accepted as awarded. No cash alternatives or substitutions are permitted. The winner must be able to pick up the prize in person from our office located at: 240 Rolson St, Main Floor, Oshawa, ON L1G 7Y9. Shipping or delivery is not provided.

5. WINNER SELECTION & ODDS: A random draw will be conducted from all eligible entries received. The odds of winning depend entirely on the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
6. WINNER NOTIFICATION & SKILL-TESTING QUESTION: The selected entrant will be notified via the email address provided at entry no later than April 30, 2026.

• To be declared a confirmed winner, the selected entrant must:
  1. Respond to the notification email within five (5) business days of the email being sent.
  2. Correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, multi-step mathematical skill-testing question, which will be provided within the congratulatory notification email.
  3. Agree to sign a standard Declaration and Release of Liability form upon prize pickup (if the winner is a minor, the parent/guardian must sign).
• Redraw: If the selected entrant fails to respond within five (5) business days, incorrectly answers the skill-testing question, or fails to meet any other conditions, they will be disqualified. An alternate entrant will then be randomly drawn from the remaining eligible entries.

7. PUBLICITY RELEASE: By entering the contest and accepting the prize, the winner grants The Local Buzz the right to use their name, photograph, likeness, voice, and city of residence for promotional purposes, including but not limited to announcing the winner in The Local Buzz newspaper, on the website, and across all associated social media channels, without further compensation or notice.
8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: The Local Buzz assumes no responsibility or liability for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or corrupted entries, nor for any computer, online, telephone, hardware, software, or technical malfunctions that may occur. The Local Buzz is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest.
9. RIGHT TO MODIFY, CANCEL, OR SUSPEND: The Local Buzz reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the contest should a virus, bug, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other cause beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the contest.
10. PRIVACY: By entering, you agree to the collection and use of your personal information by The Local Buzz solely for the purposes of administering this contest. If you explicitly opt-in to the newsletter, your email will also be used for marketing communications in compliance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You may unsubscribe at any time.
11. GOVERNING LAW: This contest is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from this contest shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario.
